San Francisco Districts: Central
The geographical heart of the city, San Francisco’s Central District is as heterogeneous as everything else here. San Francisco, CA real estate investment in the area is certain to appreciate since the district enjoys sunny, mostly fog-free weather and is home to historic neighborhoods with outstanding views of the city.
Haight Ashbury
The name Haight Ashbury evokes images of the psychedelic, peace-loving ‘60s, when flower children congregated on and near the intersection of Haight and Ashbury during the Summer of Love. Though they’re long gone, the bohemian atmosphere of those seemingly carefree days remains in the unique, independently-owned shops that line the streets and in the multihued San Francisco CA Victorian homes that are some of the best San Francisco, CA real estate investments.
Buena Vista
South of Haight Ashbury and the high-altitude Buena Vista Park, the Buena Vista neighborhood enjoys easy, almost immediate access to the park and its 37 acres of lush greenery. Spectacular views are a staple in this elevated neighborhood.
Eureka Valley
The Eureka Valley is now more well-known as the Castro district. A live and let live neighborhood, the Castro is San Francisco’s – and the country’s – gay and lesbian capital. As colorful as the rainbow flag, the Castro district features restored Victorians and an array of shops, restaurants, bars and clubs.
Mission
No other place displays the richness of San Francisco’s Latino culture better than the Mission District. In this lively, bustling neighborhood are taquerias, San Francisco burritos, colorful murals and the Mission Dolores, the oldest structure in San Francisco after which the district gets its name.
Noe Valley
Edwardian and Victorian row houses define the streetscape of Noe Valley, one of San Francisco’s most distinct neighborhoods. Popular with young professionals and young families, the community has been dubbed the “Village within the City” for its warmth and coziness. A home in Noe Valley would be a good San Francisco, CA real estate investment.
Glen Park
Another neighborhood with a village atmosphere is Glen Park, south of Noe Valley. A small community, Glen Park is intimate, serene and most of the commercial establishments here are unique and independently-owned.
